WHO I AM

French teacher and translator

I am Laure Bureau (pronounced [lor] [buRo] in French), but here in Spain, they call me Laura. I was born and spent the first 25 years of my life amidst the famous châteaux of the beautiful Loire Valley in Western France, a region with a rich culture of gastronomy, wine and tourism.

It was there that I earned a degree in Foreign Languages Applied to Commerce and Tourism (English and Spanish). After several stays in Spain, Italy and the United States, in 2003 I settled near Madrid, which has been my home ever since. My professional life began in the fields of tourism, hospitality and international trade, but in 2014, I decided to pursue a career in translation and teaching French as a foreign language.

Since then, I’ve enjoyed working with companies, language academies, and municipal schools, offering group and individual classes at all levels, both in-person and online.

As a translator, I chose to specialise in the fields I deeply understand and enjoy: gastronomy, tourism and personal development.
